Hi, I’m Johnna Bavoso

It’s nice to meet you

In 1983 I started The People Business, Inc. because I wanted to help people work better together through mutual respect and cooperation. It has been a most successful and rewarding professional journey.

Now I’m just as eager to teach others what I have learned along the way in a “train-the-trainer” model. I have done this all along while offering direct consulting and training services to clients. However, now I am going to focus on training others on my copyrighted programs so that they can serve their organizations.

So all of the programs of The People Business, Inc. are available to you and your organization through this model in which human resource or training professionals become certified to use the program and your organization is then licensed for that use.

Please see the Train-Your-Trainer page for more information about this model and then contact us to talk about your needs and options.

However, if you do not have an internal resource and would still like to use any of these programs the Associates of The People Business, Inc. can provide the training directly to your organization.  Again, contact us to talk about your needs and options.

About Johnna

Johnna’s professional journey has included a variety of experiences from her degree in secondary education, to mental health professional, to a juvenile probation officer, and an executive director of non-profit organizations in Denver and Fort Collins.

Then in 1983 her entrepreneurial spirit got the best of her and she launched The People Business, Inc through which she has offered organizational development, leadership coaching, team building and change management services to for profit, public and non-profit organizations all over the country for the past thirty one years.  She has created and copyrighted four training programs that continue to help folks work more effectively in teams, manage change, and become better managers and leaders.

Johnna has developed a special interest and expertise in working with companies as they move through the significant organizational changes. Johnna has also mentored dozens of leaders as she coaches them in developing and then sustaining effective managerial and leadership practices while building successful enterprises.

In 2003 Johnna was invited to become the Senior Vice President & Company Coach for McWhinney, a national real estate development company. In that role Johnna led the People Services Team and guided the Company and its leaders on their path of growth.  As a result McWhinney was recognized in 2007 and 2008 as one of the best 25 Small/Medium Companies to Work for in America.

In January 2010, Johnna published From Laid Off To Living© a guidebook that helps folks move through the initial trauma of being laid off, through the phases of change to a more positive and productive future.  In collaboration with workforce centers across the state 56 of Colorado’s 64 counties offered this program during 2010-2012.

Then during the next decade Johnna took her GroupsWork!® and ChangeBuilders/Building On Change® programs into both corporate and public sector organizations.

In 2016, then focusing again on the waves of change ahead she moved her focus to aging. She created The Sacbe Way® which is designed to support women as we move through our later years. This support group approach provides both a model for and encouragement to navigate intentionally the passing into and through aging.

In 2023 Johnna is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of The People Business Inc. and its legacy of helping organizations and individuals move successfully through change, coach leaders to achieve their best while building high performing teams, and assisting entrepreneurs on their path to success.

Now The People Business Inc. continues to offer all of its programs through Certified Trainers as well as Licenses to organizations with the capacity to train and coach internally.

As a third generation Coloradoan Johnna is proud of her pioneer heritage.  With Art, her husband, Johnna has enjoyed living and playing in Fort Collins for the past 42 years. With the SunnySide Singers they spread joy to folks in senior living centers in Northern Colorado. Through her Lake Sherwood Summer Camp she keeps playtime alive each summer for herself, grandsons and other kids who like to play!
